This group encompasses several variations of clays and glaze applications, but the double diamond hole set is consistent. The holes are now punched with a jig all at the same time so they are all the same.
The very first of these will be on Ada clay with the caly being the somewhat dingy version of Ada clay in use just before the switch to Sapulpa clay. These date to 1953 give or take a little.
The second group is the red clay group starting in 1954 and going to about 1969. Keep in mind that after about 1962 the Sapulpa clay starts to lighten.
The third group is marked by glazed bottoms and the pink Sapulpa clay. These two changes did not necessarily occur at the same time, but the date for both in the 1968-1970 era.
The rutile glazes undergo three itterations in the double diamond era: 1) Ada clay with American rutile, 2) Sapulpa red clay and American rutile, and 3) Sapulpa pink clay with Australian rutile. The desert gold shakers in this group show all three rutile applications and I will mention them as I comment on each shaker pair.
